East Ayrshire's war: WW2 poems part 2 (text)

The Evacuee

The EVACUEE is damp blue.
He is black winter on a misty
mountain.
With battering rain.
He is manky under wear
And a burst foootstool.
He is like Good Night Mister Tom
And mouldy cheese.

Kirsty

Evacuee

The Evacuee is dark army green in a
mustard yellow.
She is a creepy, dark, gloomy, rusty,
winter, in a creepy, dark, barn, with grey
sleet.
He is black rags with old wasted stockings,
and a two legged chair sitting next to a
fine guard.
He is Goodnight Mr Tom, and a skinned
rabbit with blood running through it.

The Evacuee

Evacuee is stormy blue.
He is a blistery autumn,
In a crocodile infested lake.
He is bucketing rain
And a pair of patched trousers.
He is a splintered wooden stool,
And War of the Worlds.
He is fatty beef stew.
