East Ayrshire's war: Jenna's grandparents (text)

I asked my Nana and Papa few questions about the War.

What sort of games did you play during the war?

We played Stalky,it’s a bit like hide and seek but your in teams. Most of the boys played games like football and cricket and the girls played with skipping ropes and hop scotch.

What was the rationing like? Did you like it?

No, we didn’t like the the rationing. We hardly got any sweets during the war.If you wanted to buy something in a shop you would have to wait in a que outside.. Most of the time you didn’t know what you were getting.

Clydebank bombings

You could hear the bombs dropping down on Clydebank. After the bombs in Clyde Bank there was a bomb in Riccarton moss.Luckily nobody was hurt there but alot of the land was a mess.
