What did you do to have fun?

Just normal things like going to the pictures, dancing, listening to the radio and playing cards.

What was the down side of the war?

The down side was knowing that people were getting killed.

What is your most frightening memory of the war?

When my brother went missing it was along time before he was announced dead. We didn’t know where he was buried until 1946.
