What were the clothes like?

Sarah: Well they weren’t that so much different form the clothes we wear nowadays it was more or less the length that was different and what we termed the new look it wasn’t introduced until after the war. Now the new look was the length that we wear things nowadays

What were hairstyles like?

John: Oh short back and sides was common in those days you didn’t have fancy things like gel in those days so short back and styles for the men. Don’t know about the women.

Sarah: Well in the ATS the women weren’t aloud to let their hair drop onto their collar this is a photograph of me , now if you notice there my hair is well rolled up round my head if one piece had fallen onto your collar you were in trouble.
