John: My name is John Patterson and I was in the Royal Air Force during the war.

Sarah: My name is Sarah Patterson and I was in the ATS during the war.

What age were you during the war?

Sarah: I was, when I volunteered for the army or the ATS, I was 18 years of age.

John:I was 19 years when I went away to the war.

Did you have any brothers and sisters during the war?

John: Well my family consisted of myself and two brothers and two sisters, so I had two brothers and two sisters, so there were five of us.

Sarah: Yes, I was one of nine, fours sisters and five brothers and that was our family.
