We will remember them : Cameron’s Great, Great Uncle (text & image)

Major Christopher Collett is Cameron’s great, great uncle. He was in the Army and served in the Royal Signals. He was stationed at Catterick the training ground in the North of England.

We know he was a major and in the signals because of his cap badge.

Photo of picture of Major Christopher Collet, his cap and medals He had 6 medals. They were the 1939-45 star, the Burma star, the France and Germany star, the Defence medal and the War medal.

This tells us he must have been in the Far East as well as in France and Germany during the war. He also got the Indian General Service Medal 1908-35. This means he was serving in India before the war broke out.
