Amy and Peter, primary 7, Mile End Primary school interviewing local women: Norma Deans, Isobel Mclntosh and Elisabeth Ausberry [part 1]
Where did you live?
Norma: Great northern road, woodside
IsobelUrquart st, just off urquart road
Elizabeth: I lived in Perth, I didn’t come from Aberdeen

How old were you when the war started?
N: I was 7 years old.
I: I was 3 weeks short of being 20.
E: I was just about 3.

Did you have a boyfriend during the war?
I: Many boyfriends!...but only one in particular.
N: I used to write to some on in France, his name was Andre but I never heard from him after the war.
E: Not for me.

What school did you go to?
Isobel: I went to King Street School and then Frederick St School.
Norma: I went to Woodside then Hilton.
Elizabeth: I went to Caledonian road school in Perth.

What was your favourite past time?
Norma: Always cycling, skipping rope. Used to put the ball against the wall and things like that, rounders… lots of games.
Isobel: My past time was going to the dancing in the evening but in between that I was in the civil defence. I did civil defence work during the war.
Elizabeth: We had game boards like ‘Ludo’ and ‘Snakes’ and ‘Ladders’.

Were you evacuated to the countryside?
No!
